Rain

Last week ,  I had to help my son to write a poem on rain . Here it is. Hope you would enjoy the poem.

I rushed to my balcony
When the whistling wind shut my windows
I could see the trees swaying in the mighty wind,
And the fishermen rowing fast to reach the shore

I loved the chillness I felt,
As a raindrop kissed my cheeks
Dark clouds in the sky covered their faces
As they tried to hide their tears

“Why are the clouds about to cry”, I asked my mom
 ”Dear, it had been a long time
Since the tiny droplets left their mom,
 Enjoying their summer up above,
 Floating around like cotton candies


The music of the wind might have reminded them
Of their mother’s sweet lullaby,
The chillness of the wind might have made them
Feel her soft and gentle touch

Son, they may be missing their mom, the mother earth”


Soon heavy drops fell down from the sky
Weaving silver threads as they fell
I liked the giggling sound they made,
As they fell into the river below


The blowing wind sprayed droplets on me
Wetting my cheeks more and more
I splashed back on him
Catching the drops that fell near me


I blinked my eyes as a flash zoomed in the sky
I got frightened as a thunder roared in my ears
I rushed back to my room as fast as I could
To watch the lovely rain through my windows
